Rainbow Warrior Free Open Boat Tour

There is a great opportunity next weekend to be part of living history. You are invited to take a free tour of Greenpeace's new Rainbow Warrior.

The two Sydney open days are part of a six week "Save the Reef" tour as this legendary vessel heads up to far north Queensland.

The new Rainbow Warrior will stop in Brisbane, Townsville, Airlie Beach and Mackay on the way.

The ship's crew will visit communities and record the impact of coal developments on the Great Barrier Reef, as well as calling Australians to take action.

The Rainbow Warrior was funded entirely by donations from around the world.

Earlier Greenpeace expeditions have been in little more than ill-fitted vessels but the new Rainbow Warrior is a custom-designed, eco friendly and state of the art creation.

On the free tour you can see one of the world's most environmentally friendly ships. There will be a chance to meet the captain, visit the control room, see the helicopter landing pad and note the satellite communications system where live footage can be streamed directly from the live action to the media.

The family friendly event will also feature face painting and other activities for children

You will also be able to learn what you can do to help save the reef.

A fascinating outing for families and a worthy cause for all Australians.
