In the heart of Rainbow Beach lies Carlo Sand Blow. This magnificent natural attraction was named by Captain Cook after one of his deckhands named Carlo.
The Sand Blow is accessible by foot, only a short 600 metre walk from the road, and yet the sand covers 15 hectares.
On any given day you'll spot hang gliders and sky divers enjoying the natural beauty of the area, yet few visitors make the visit by foot.
Next time you are in Rainbow Beach, back a picnic rug, a few snacks and a hat and some sunscreen, and head to Carlo Sand Blow for a view you'll never forget. Visit between August to October and you may even be lucky enough to spot migrating whales swim by.
