I don't care how old you are, there is always time for Rain, Hayne and Shine Farmyard. Walking under the welcome rainbow kids of any age are instantly filled with excitement. I always love that little walk to the kiosk, mainly because one of my favourite animals at Rain, Hayne & Shine is the mule, Jingle. She is so friendly and always comes over for a little look and a pat on the nose.
Wandering through the farm there is plenty to see outside, heaps of animals wander around freely so I would definitely recommend getting some food for them from the kiosk. You can also get the kids a pony ride for around $2.00, which I think is a great price. You'll also get to see one of the farms main attractions, Charlie the Cockatoo, who will usually warmly greet you with a cheeky 'Hello, Charlie!'
Head into the barns and you'll see the farm welcomes new babies every day, on this visit I met some 3-week old bunnies, a tribe of new chickens and heaps of younger goats which means there is always someone new to greet you. I was also thrilled to see one of their pigs is about 10 days away from giving birth, so it will be great to head down there in a few weeks to see the piglets!
I guess another thing I like about the farm is how tactile it is, you and the kids can touch, feel and see a range of awesome animals. You can hold a Guinea pig or rabbit, pat a piglet or a goat you can even go and see a huge hog and a dingo!
A family of four is around $40.00 to come into the farm and there is plenty to do and see at the farm, you can even sit and have a cup of tea. It is also worth keeping in mind that Rayne, Hayne and Shine Farmyard can host parties in their train cars and have a dedicated BBQ area, you can also book a mobile farm to come to your next party or function. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable and there are new animals arriving at the farm all the time, so please, give yourself an excuse to get to Rain, Hayne and Shine farmyard, especially in the next few weeks whilst they are on piglet watch, you really won't regret it!
