To mark the 35th anniversary of the original great adventure, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) will perform John Williams' iconic score live to the screening of the film at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This anticipated event will be held on Saturday 6 February, 2016, 7:30pm and follows the success of The Lord of the Rings and Star Trek In Concert events.
Come and rediscover one of the greatest action-adventure films of all time and the music of famed film composer, John Williams, who holds the second highest number of Academy Award nominations in history and has composed the music for all but two of Steven Spielberg's motion-picture blockbusters.
Having engaged audiences of all ages for decades now, the tale of Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of legend: the year is 1936, and the audacious Professor of Archaeology and "obtainer of rare antiquities", Indiana Jones, portrayed by Harrison Ford, is tasked by U.S. Army Intelligence to recover the legendary Ark of the Covenant before it falls into the hands of the Nazis.
Indy's quest takes him to Nepal and Egypt, reuniting him with an old friend, an old foe, and an ex-flame who falls somewhere in between. Armed with his hat, whip and wits, the intrepid hero must face formidable enemies and impossible odds, in order to save the day, and the world.
Come see the world's greatest (albeit fictional) archaeologist make a truly spectacular return to the big screen with this concert event as the QSO perform John Williams' epic, Academy Award nominated score, including the well-known 'Raiders March', which went on to become Indiana Jones' theme.
This is a very special opportunity to witness the beloved adventure in a brand new light as the QSO's live performance will heighten the drama and action on screen, allowing for a more visceral cinematic experience - it's sure to be an adventure in itself!
As QSO's previous orchestral film events sell out, patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are on sale now via qso.com.au/raiders and are priced from $59*.
