Ever felt so mad that you could just break things? Well, there's a safe and fun way for you to do that, without hurting anybody or destroying personal property!

Rage Room is a specialty game option at MY Best Box in Berjaya Times Square. The concept is simple: a room where you can smash things up to your heart's content.

Booking in advance is a sure way to make sure you can get a spot, though walk-ins are possible if the room is free. You can find out their room schedule and make a booking here on their website .

We scheduled our session on the third day of Chinese New Year, which was a public holiday. As the first ones showing up to the venue (at 11 am), we got first dibs on lockers and got to see the rest of the 'play' area before more people appeared. There are a variety of other games available, but we were only here for the Rage Room this time. Do note that the room is only available to participants aged 18 and above.

The standard package is RM45 per pax on a weekend/public holiday, and RM40 on a weekday. One session lasts you for 15 minutes (I think we ended up spending an hour there), and each person gets a crate of eight bottles to destroy. You can pay extra to smash electrical appliances, which are subject to availability. We decided to top up an extra RM150 to smash up a flat-screen TV. Steep? Agreed. But it was for my siblings' birthday, so we were prepared to splurge. The marshall informed me that we can also bring our own items to destroy if we wanted to, so that's an option!

We started off with a briefing of the room, and rules for safety. Personal Protective Gear (PPE) is provided for you to suit up and prepare for your rampage. We also got sturdy work boots, a paintball helmet, and gloves for added protection.

There is an option to play music in the room while you go on your trail of destruction, but the speakers were busted on the day we were there. What a shame - I was looking forward to performing with some energetic ambient music to set the mood.

A maximum of two people are allowed in the room at a time, so if you're in a group, you can take turns. Once inside, you can choose your weapon - options include a metal rod, crowbars, some beat up baseball bats, and tyre irons. Then the room is yours!

It turned out to be quite a workout. We worked up a sweat in there smashing up bottles and destroying the TV. Some wooden boxes are available in the room to use as a mount to whack bottles off of, and there's a target on the wall to aim at - though it looks like it's seen better days.

Once we had crushed everything that could be crushed (I even dug around in some of the older pile of glass to find some bottles still intact - score!), we called it a day. Definitely a fun weekend activity with friends!
