On Tuesday 6 December, Raffles College of Design and Commerce held their Graduates Exhibition at the Central Park Mall aMBUSH Event space. On Level 3 of the mall this dramatic urban-warehouse space is the perfect place to frame and showcase the brilliant array of art emerging in the ranks of Fashion Design and Marketing, Photography, Arts, Interior Design and Visual Communication.
The theme for the 2016 exhibition was Synergy; the interaction between two or more substances. The visual feast was edgy, creative, innovative and inspiring. Beautiful photographic collages were sharp and distinctive, displaying both precision and a high calibre of work.
As a privileged guest, the highlight for me on this gala night was the Runway Fashion Parade. Marrying professionalism and perfectionism, the onslaught of ideas and designs, colours and fabrics, the parade was the climax of Synergy - ideas merging and re-emerging as greater artworks because of the collaboration of many minds.
Raffles College is a specialist education provider creating a network of mentoring and supportive community within their campus. High quality teaching, with an emphasis on industry relevance and employability, is synergised with social conscience and ethical responsibility. They also provide unique opportunities for students to live and work in international environments and their graduates are recognised on the world stage. And rightly so.
