At this hotel, I found an attractive Scandinavian holiday on the French coastline. The hotel has cafe, restaurants, heated pool, meeting facilities, spa and fitness centre. I was never far from Biarritz's historic centre and the sea during my visit.
This is a 4-star hotel with Scandinavian roots located at Biarritz historic centre and near the Atlantic Ocean, on the old road leading to Saint-Jean-de-la-Luz. The first impression I had at the time of visiting this hotel was that I had come to a business hotel.
This impression was confirmed on the hotel's ground floor, where I found a large hall with a reception to the right and a bar-café to the left and several conference rooms on the ground floor. The hotel has a peaceful atmosphere.
The hotel was built in 2001 and then opened under the Scandinavian name Radisson SAS. Today it is called Radisson Blu, but this does not change the quality of the hotel and the rooms. From the hallway, two elevators lead up to other floors where visitors find hotels rooms that fully match the hotel's four stars status and the hotel's rooftop terrace.
There is a lounge, cafe-restaurant and a swimming pool that invites guests to holidays. From the terrace, visitors have a beautiful view over fine mansions opposite and the blue sea behind the hotel. On the ground floor, there is also a cafe and restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining. The hotel also has fitness facilities and a spa centre.
The hotel has a total of 150 well-furnished rooms, all of which have air conditioning, free wi-fi and flat-screen TVs. The only thing visitors could miss is a balcony, but visitors can happily enjoy the rooftop terrace. The hotel also houses a few family rooms that contain two double beds and with a fifth bed for a child under 3 years.
I do not want to hide the fact that the hotel is close to a roundabout resulting in some noise, especially if you sit at the cafe's outdoor tables on the ground floor. The noise, however, is limited in the rooms and can not be heard on the roof terrace.
