Melbourne has so much to offer. I love experiencing new places and events and sharing them with you.
I have an interest in gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diets so I will let you know if you these can be catered for in my reviews.

A very different type of bar
Radhey's is about so much more than just chai (photo from their Facebook page)
Chai means tea in many parts of the world. Traditionally it is brewed with spices such as cinnamon, cloves, ginger and cardamon. At this cafe you can have not only have the signature blend regular chai, but also flavoured chai with caramel, almond or even chocolate. There is iced chai, hot chocolate, various herbal teas and smoothies. They have soy, cows milk, almond milk and housemade cashew nut milk options. And that's just the beverages.
All meals made from scratch on site, from fresh and organic produce
Radhey Kitchen and Chai bar is a relatively new destination on Brunswick Street. I love this place. It's friendly and welcoming. It is all vegetarian, with no onion or garlic. They use fresh, local and organic ingredients and everything is made from scratch on site.
Every day they have lunch deal for under $10. In this budget you may chose a toastie, the curry of the day with rice, soup (with bread and salad), their 'meatball' sub for which they are known, or one of the many other options.
They always have salads, usually at least two, such as an Asian salad, gado gado, raw beetroot and carrot salad or a particularly tasty potato salad made with capsicum and pecans. Many meals may be complimented with a side salad, or chips or both!
One of my favourite dishes is the bhakti burger - a quinoa and vegetable pattie, on a toasted bun with vegan mayo, chips, sauce and salad. It's not on the $10 menu, but at $14.50 it is pretty good value and so tasty. They also have a number of wraps, foccacias and toasted sandwiches as well as pastas and other meals such as a delicious laksa.
If you have room to fit in dessert, there are always plenty to chose from. Cupcakes, cakes, slices, cheesecake, even raw sweets are in the cabinet and they change daily. For just $2 you may have a vegan cupcake when you purchase a hot drink. How can you refuse that?!
Radhey's does catering. Cakes for special occasions or catering which is vegetarian, vegan and/or gluten free diets. There is also an upstairs room available for functions.
"Karma free' they call themselves, and I can see why. They are ethical in their sourcing, with kindness at the core. Peaceful music is always on and the staff are helpful. This is food that will nourish your palate, your stomach and your soul.
Vegan, gluten free, even sugar free and raw options
