Sea Shepherd is a non profit conservation organisation dedicated to protecting ocean wildlife from illegal fishing and damage to their marine habitat. They rely heavily on the public for support, and their current project is to send ships to Antarctica this summer to stop unlawful poaching there.

The is a chance for families to have a great time, learn more about Sea Shepherd and its activities, and enjoy lots of free things to do on the day. Come to Anomaly Studios at Hendon for lots of fun activities for kids including a chalk floor drawing competition, bouncy castle and a kids' disco. Dress in fancy dress - pirate clothes will be perfect for the nautical theme.

Celebrity chef Simon Bryant will be taking a cooking class for the kids in the pirate galley (mums and dads welcome too), or you can listen to free live music from local bands including Fortune from Tragedy, Tapir Kingdom, Hightime, Captain Hellfire, Doctor Piffle, and many more. Bring a chair or a bean bag to make yourself comfortable as you relax to the music.



Plenty of market stalls will tempt you to spend a few dollars on Christmas gifts, and community groups Freedom Hill Sanctuary, SA Whale Centre and Animals Asia will have information stands too. There are competitions to win, raffles for prizes, and a live auction of Sea Shepherd memorabilia, including a ship's Jolly Roger Flag signed by Captain Peter Hammarstedt,

With all the fun things to do you (and the kids) will develop quite an appetite, but stalls including Veggie Velo burgers, Punjabi Tandoori Indian food, Loca Pops popsicles and Mischief Brew coffee will keep your stomach from rumbling. A licensed bar will be open if you'd like to sip on a wine with your curry.



Entry to the is free if you book a free ticket online through Eventbrite , and you get a free raffle ticket included. If you forgot to book then a gold coin will get you admission to the family fun day which kicks off from 12pm on Saturday November 21 at Anomaly Studios, 3 Butler Drive, Hendon.
