Can't Miss It And Wouldn't Want To
I wonder what the locals thought about this imposing RACV luxury resort when it was first built? As you take the sweeping bend from Torquay, on the way to Lorne, it looms on top of the hill at number 1 Great Ocean Road, Torquay.

The RACV Resort Torquay was only opened in June 2013. It still smells and looks sparkling new. It's as modern as you can get and very swish. The reception typifies the large grand open spaces throughout with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the views of the beach and golf course.

Golf

The RACV Torquay Golf Club is a challenging course. The 18-hole golf course was developed and made challenging by former US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy and Mike Clayton, winner of many Australian and overseas tournaments.

Dining
The signature restaurant is called Number One. They serve breakfast through to dinner. The cuisine is European modern Australian. Harding's Bar has a selection of light meals, sandwiches and cocktails. White's Paddock Bistro and bar has a bistro style Mediterranean dining.

Accommodation

The resort has nearly 100 rooms and suites all with views of the golf course and beaches. The room rates are from under $200 to around $500. Add only $36 per child. For real luxury you can book a room with a Roman spa bath and rain shower.

Shopping
The resort has a retail shop with a diverse range of products such as toiletries, confectionery and souvenirs. Picnic hampers can be ordered. The resort is only a couple of kms from the shopping outlets. They are predictably surfy (Billabong, Ripcurl, Quicksilver, Vans).

Other facilities
The Resort has ten meeting spaces that are suitable for meetings, conferences and weddings for groups of 8 - 410.There have a fitness centre, tennis court, indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna. Member discounts apply. For the children they have a wading pool, playground, jumping pillow and activity room.

This RACV resort is only 75 minutes from the city so perfect for a weekend getaway. The views are great and the food was well presented. I ate the best brownie I have ever tasted there. RACV members enjoy a 25% discount off accommodation, golf and spa all year round.
