Everyday in Australia, 7 women die from breast cancer, and it tragically affects the lives of so many people. These statistics are awful and events such as these not only raise awareness but genuinely help improve the lives of those affected.
Whether you donate or participate, the funds raised go directly to quick responses for women with breast cancer. These services can include paying for a babysitter for a woman during her treatment, or covering the cost of a specially fitted bra for women who have undergone surgery.
Your donation also helps to fund inspiring services like art therapy, yoga classes and the 'mum, memories and me' program that helps terminally ill women create memory boxes for their children.
RACQ sponsors this event each year and its aim is to bring women (blokes, and kids), of all ages and fitness levels together to raise money for a good cause. This year's beneficiary is the Mater Chicks in Pink and their support for women with breast cancer makes real impacts on the people affected. They also contribute funds to a better understanding and treatment of breast cancer through medical research.
At time of writing almost $30,000 has been raised, join the cause and help them achieve their goal of $150,000. You can donate to the Chicks in Pink or to a participant. And you can register here to be a part of it.
