During the month of October, Racecourse Road will be PINKed Up!
The "PINK Project" is all about having some PINK fun and raising awareness for Breast Cancer month.
Come along with your family and friends this Spring and take a walk from the River to the Racetrack; you'll come across 48 adopted Poinciana Trees that have been "PINK up" by Businesses, Local Residents & Community Groups.
Spokesperson for the Racecourse Road Business Group, Bev Sotiriou said "This is our 7th year of turning Racecourse Road PINK and every year it just gets bigger and PINKer!"
Throughout the month of October, the public are invited to vote for their favourite tree - with the winner crowned "People's Choice" and receiving $500 cash.
Every adopted PINK tree has the Sponsor's Name, Tree Number and the Facebook link to cast your vote!
Local Creative Business owner David Hooper from kidzchalk was been commissioned to decorate several trees with recycling materials to create large representative and very PINK artworks!
"Community engagement is exactly what we love the most and we hope to grow this relationship in the coming years" Bev said.
kidzchalks have also organised several PINK ARTworks on the walls of buildings, creating an extra PINK feature - it includes the use of recycled goods in very creative PINK ways!
This year, St Augustines has also joined in by supporting Mater chicks in pink, with their annual fair on Saturday 18th October.
Plus two of Racecourse Road's favourite cafe/restaurants, Vagelis Cafe and Lido Cafe Restaurant, will host fundraising events for the Mater chicks in pink on Wednesday 29th October.
