Let's talk about race. Is it the elephant in the room? Have you ever witnessed or experienced yourself, negativity because of being of a race which is not the primary race of a place or location? Do you or someone you know hold conscious or unconscious bias?

In 2016, Birmingham-based performer Selina Thompson wrote a thousand questions about race. Questions such as 'My mum does not talk about race any more. It makes her uncomfortable, tired. Will this happen to me?', 'What are the dangers of making art about race?' and 'Whatever happened to Kony 2012?'.

Following seasons in Canada, Ireland, Germany, USA and the UK and as part of the Adelaide Festival, comes to Australia as both an installation and a durational performance event.

As you experience the filmed durational performance of Selina Thompson reading all of the thousand questions, you are invited to read all of the cards, on the condition that you answer one of them. You are also invited to copy out a question and take it home to ponder.

Language around race has moved faster over the past decade than it ever has before and is changing and evolving at an ever-increasing rate. It is changing, but then it is not. How do we transform the dialogue when so many hold assumptions and prejudices?

This installation invites you into this global conversation which has been five years in the making. Will you answer the call and provide a response to the demand that we make a new route forwards, starting with ourselves?
