It's possible that if you are reading this, you might have depression, or have a parent with depression, or a close friend, or even a co-worker. Regardless of your sex, age, or ethnicity, you are likely to know heaps of people with depression throughout your lifetime. Sometimes it can seem like things will never get better, that maybe it's 'one of those things' that happens to people. However, there are plenty of people in Melbourne - and all over the world - willing to take a stand to help fight depression.

Monash Golden Key is holding this year's Race Against Depression. Held in support of Lifeline Australia , teams of 3 will be racing throughout the Melbourne CBD to raise money and awareness.

How do I get involved?

There's a Facebook page with more details if you need them or you can just email [email protected] Let them know the full names of you and your friends, your date of birth, a contact phone number, and a team name and voilĂ . You're set.

How much do I need to raise?

Each member of your team will need to pledge a $10 donation. After that, it's up to you! Ask your parents, your siblings, your friends, and your co-workers and you should be able to raise a little bit of money. However there is no 'minimum' amount you need to raise.

When is it? What if I'm not free that day?

It will be held on the 9th of September. That's a Sunday, making it easier for more people to come along. However, if you really are too busy, you can donate to a team of 3, or just to Lifeline directly. Too easy.
