Step inside and explore this adorable bookshop
Rabble Books & Games is an independent family run book and board game store located on Eighth Avenue in Maylands that opened on the 1st of June 2018. I discovered Rabble Books & Games back in May while looking up bookstores on Facebook. I'd never heard of it before, so I decided to check out their page.

I love Rabble Books and Game's feminist inspired logo
Back then, the store had not opened yet. Rabble Books & Games is owned by a young couple called Sam and Nat. In the weeks leading up to the store's opening, I really enjoyed seeing updates from Sam and Nat pop up on my Facebook feed. You could really feel their excitement building as they began assembling bookshelves and getting shipments of stock delivered.

Rabble Books and Games is little kid and dog friendly
I visited Rabble Books & Games a week after it opened. My little girl grabbed my hand and immediately dragged me over to the children's section. They had tables and bookshelves crammed with a diverse selection of books.

There are children's books and literary themed t-shirts
A few really stood out to me like a book called
My Feminist ABC's and a new edition to the
Little Miss series of books called
Little Miss Inventor. There were also books about people of colour, people with disabilities, LBGTI themed books, and books about families. There were also some literary-themed t-shirts for kids. I was so close to buying
My Feminist ABC's but instead, we picked
Peppa Pig Goes Surfing.

I was really impressed with the diverse selection of books
After I finished in the children's section, I went and explored the rest of the shop. I really liked their graphic novel section. It was stocked with some excellent books like
Saga, Bitch Planet,
My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness and
Ms Marvel. I have read all of these books and can't recommend them enough.

I liked their comic book collection
As you wander around, the shop you will see easy-to-read signs identifying each of the different parts of the bookstore. I spent some time in the travel, science fiction and fantasy, primary, humour and cooking sections. I liked how books with colourful and attractive front covers were put on the top shelves to grab people's attention.

You can tell that a lot of love has gone into setting up this shop
The gaming section is in the middle of the shop. There are card games, dice games, rrole-playinggames and more.

At the front half of the store, you will find tote bags, note books, coffee cups and a huge selection of greeting cards. I picked up a gorgeous pink and blue tote bag with pictures of birds on it for just $19.95! I was pretty psyched at the price. It's not uncommon for tote bags to go for between $24.95 and $40.00 in other places.

Buy a coffee cup, a tote bag or a notebook
Sam and Nat were lovely and all smiles for their customers. Sam was manning the till while wearing a baby on his chest and Nat was stacking some wrapping paper on the front till when I spoke to them. I got a really wonderful vibe from Rabble Books & Games. I will definitely be back again to see if they have any new and interesting books on display.
