Welcome to Ra Ramen, home to delectable yet cheap Chinese food.

The Facts

One fine Sunday, our search for a delicious lunch brought us to the doorstep of this lovely restaurant.

[ADVERT]Once inside we were whisked to a corner table and handed a menu. We soon found out that the place serves hot tea and unlimited Slurpee for free.

The menu is surprisingly extensive with options ranging from noodles, rice, sides, entrees, dumplings, desserts, drinks and so forth, making up almost eight pages. Absolutely drool worthy, the marvellous menu will leave you lost for options. After much debating we finally chose three items from the menu.

The Experience

The staff were courteous and our orders followed within 10 minutes of placing the orders.

The spring onion pancake was the first item we turned our attention to. This dish is an indubitable winner. A delightfully crisp pancake suffused with mild spices, this item makes an excellent starter/entrée. Not at all greasy, the pancake hit all the right spots. Soft and flaky, this dish is a must-have item in the menu.

Next item we devoured was the prawn in egg gravy. Beautifully presented, this dish tasted as good as it looked. The egg was done to perfection while the prawn was soft and succulent. The combination of spices was just right. The generous serving ensured that the item was enough for two adults.

By this time we were getting pretty full but decided to attack our last dish, prawn and pork wontons in chilli oil. Again, the serving size was pretty big. The wonton themselves were very tender and had a tasty filling within the soft exterior. Do not be discouraged by the term chilli. The chilli oil was not that hot but added a delightful zing to this yum dish.

Aftermath

Once we had rested a bit after this fantastic feast, we proceeded to the counter to pay our bill. For three highly filling dishes we paid bang on $25. We certainly fared very well for a massive lunch for two adults.

Cheap and filling, Ra Ramen does not compromise on the quality of their food. The top-notch food obtained here is great for sharing with family and friends. The food is freshly made right before your eyes in glass-panelled kitchen. A seamless blend of flavour and variety, the food will leave you full and contented.

The extensive menu is tailored to the needs and desires of all including the ones with an indecisive streak.

The restaurant itself is very busy, abuzz with life and excitement. Not appropriate for intimate dining, this place provides a casual and social setting for a relaxed lunch or dinner.

Additional treats include unlimited hot tea and Slurpee for free.

Only walking distance from the Glen Waverley railway station and numerous car parks, this restaurant makes an ideal venue for lunch and dinner alike.

Great value for money, Ra Ramen is an outstanding choice for filling and scrumptious Chinese cuisine.
