Muggles still waiting on their acceptance letter from Hogwarts can console themselves with a taste of the wizarding world, thanks to QUT.
Joining the Broncos and the Lions as beloved Brisbane sporting teams, the Lycans is Brisbane's own Quidditch team. For the three people who haven't read Harry Potter, Quidditch is the main sport in the wizarding world, a weird combination of hockey and volleyball played while flying on broomsticks. Players compete to throw balls through floating hoops until the golden snitch, a tiny flying ball, is released. Worth 150 points, the team that captures the snitch usually wins the game.
QUT Quidditch offers weekly social games, as well as a competitive league that competes against other universities across Australia. The league is suitable for players of all fitness levels and experience.
Membership is $5 and members receive access to all games, as well as social events like trivia nights, pub crawls, and the TriWizard Tournament and Yule Ball.
