Were you attending a Brisbane Teachers College in the era of shorts and long socks, mini skirts and beetle embroidered black stockings? If so, congratulations may be in order. If you graduated in 1966 or earlier, you can be one of the guests of honour at QUT's Golden Graduates morning tea on Saturday November 5.
Class 1D, Kedron Park Teachers College Brisbane 1965
This will be an excellent chance to walk down memory lane with some of your fellow students, and we know how good reminiscing is for your endorphins. The science is in on this. You may even meet up with a former boyfriend or the fellow you pushed into taking you to the Combined Teachers Colleges Ball. And 1966 wasn't even a leap year.
If you were at Kedron Park Teachers College, you may even have been invited to Government House to receive your Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award. Undoubtedly you would have been involved in other extracurricular activities such as the Drama Club or one of the many sporting teams. My claim to fame in the latter was to be selected for the E grade netball team. I was not exactly the sporting type, but the end of year dinner was well worth the effort.
It's not just the chalkies who are invited to this event. Anyone who graduated from a QUT institute of learning in 1966 or earlier is cordially invited to attend. They will even take pharmacy students!
