Egg is a terrific beauty aid. If your hair is feeling lacklustre and starving for nutrients, then raid your pantry and break some egg shells. Eggs are brimming with proteins which make marvellous conditioning and strengthening masks. If your hair is feeling dry, then beat up an egg or two with olive oil and apply it all over your head. Leave the egg in the hair for 20 minutes before rinsing off with shampoo. Generous amount of shampoo or scented oil after washing hair will musk the smell of eggs. Show off your opulent hair to envious friends!
Egg yolks and egg whites make magnificent ingredients for facial treatments. Apply egg white all over your face and wash off after 5 -10 minutes. This facial treatment will cleanse your skin and reduce appearance of wrinkles. However, take mental note that while you waiting for the egg white to dry up, do not engage in potentially hazardous (!) activities like talking or laughing because this may result in wrinkles on your skin. The key is to relax as the egg white dries up and then rinse off properly followed by generous moisturising. Enjoy watching the puffiness disappear and your pores getting smaller as your skin starts glowing with health.
Radiance of the skin and hair can only be obtained by regular usage of these tips.
Eggshells are gold mines for calcium. Once you boil your eggs, do not pour out the boiled-egg water. Cool the water and use it to water your veggie patch. Your plants will thank you by growing healthy and strong. Furthermore, if you have adopted tip number 1 or have just enjoyed an omelette or poached egg, then do not throw out the egg shells. Wash the shells properly, poke a small hole in the bottom with a pin to ensure draining and fill the shell with soil. Press some the seeds into the soil. The abundance of nutrients in the shells will enable the seeds to grow into beautiful, perky plants.
Next time you cut your finger and suddenly feel illuminated by the realisation that you had forgotten to stock up on band aids, fear not. Hard-boil an egg and use the thin membrane between the white exterior and the egg shell as a make-shift band aid. Apply pressure on the band aid to stop the bleeding. The egg membrane won't only act as a band aid but will also be a source of scar-fighting nutrients.
Eggs are amazing at cleaning our skin, but their magic does not end there. Eggs are great at cleaning leather too. The egg whites' thick and sticky base removes dirt from leather shoes, bags and wallets without any sweat. Scrub the egg whites on your dirty leather and wipe off with a damp cloth. Voilà, clean and shiny leather!
