The Eastern Palliative Care Quilt Show returns for a special two-day event this October at a brand new venue.
Held on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 October 2014 at TLC Church, this unique event will showcase a variety of quilts and crafty wares which are available for purchase.
The quilts on display are both loved and used. Some have seen many years' service, others are recently finished, but the love, dedication and care taken by the quilt maker can be clearly seen.
A few of the quilts have historical significance, but they all have a personal significance.
What makes a quilt special, as the name of the show suggests, is that it is loved and used.
Fellow quilt maker and author Margaret Rolfe is the special guest speaker at this year's event.
Margaret has been passionately writing about and designing Australian quilts since 1975.
She has published several books of quilt designs along with a history of Australian quilts, and has travelled the world, giving lectures and teaching quilt-making techniques.
You can hear about Margaret's experiences at the public lecture event on Friday 17 October at 7pm. Tickets are priced $25 per person. For bookings, please phone 1300 130 813.
All proceeds from the event go to Eastern Palliative Care, a not-for-profit home-based palliative care service which offers a full range of support programs with the aim of improving the quality of life of individuals, carers and families of those suffering life-limiting or terminal illnesses.
The event will be open to the public from 10am to 4.30pm on both days.
Entry is $5.
