Cirque Du Soleil will be showing their sellout classic "Quidam" this Summer in Canberra, held at the AIS Arena. Just in time for the school holidays, the story is about a young girl called ZoƩ who slides into an imaginary world - the world of Quidam - where she meets characters who encourage her to be creative and free.
As described by the creator "
Quidam could be anyone, anybody. Someone coming or going at the heart of our anonymous society. The one who cries out, sings and dreams within us all. This is the "quidam" whom this show allows to speak".
As with all Cirque Du Soleil spectaculars, this show has acts that will amaze and leave the crowd gasping. With over 46 international acrobats, musicians and performers in the show, viewers will be spellbound by the talent of these creative (and flexible!) performers. There will be aerial contortions in silk...
As well as aerial hoops, juggling, clowns, acrobatic artistry and shows of strength that will leave the crowd wanting more.
Quidam premiered for the first time in Montreal in 1996 and has mesmerized fans in over five continents since the first show. Now Quidam has gone a step bigger, bringing the show to large arenas around the world with Australia and New Zealand the final legs of their world tour.
The show is enjoyed for over two hours and is aimed at family viewing, however there could be
"moments of loud noises and darkness used during the show may frighten children", according to their website. For older children and adults, it is a world of magic and mystery which will leave them spellbound.
Quidam will be a highlight of the Summer show calendar around the country, with Canberra the first stop in Australia before moving on to Wollongong, Newcastle and Hobart.
