It is difficult not to be enticed by the colorful laneways weaving their creative way across Queenstown , New Zealand. The town centre is easy to walk around as it covers only one square kilometre and is located on the stunning shores of Lake Wakatipu. Here are some of the great laneways to explore at any time of the day or night around Queenstown.

Queenstown Mall:

The centre of activity is Queenstown Mall itself, where there are always plenty of buskers and retail shops to keep everyone busy and the vibe super cool. Winnies Pizza, Madam Woo's, and Ballarat Trading Company are some of the excellent eateries sitting side by side in the Mall.

Searle Lane:

This is a funky, colorful laneway with Joe's Garage a popular spot for brunch, and Habana Bar, Hell Pizza and Icebar heating up after dark. This laneway has some great architecture and is a fun place to sit and watch the world go by.

Cow Lane:

Wander down Cow Lane to The Cow Spaghetti and Pizza Restaurant which is housed in the original farmhouse where cows were once milked. The Bunker is another cool restaurant/bar to visit as you explore Cow Lane.

Church Lane:

There are a number of art galleries, restaurants and cafes around the Church Lane end of town, as well as Kiwi Bikes for those interested in cycling along The Queenstown Trail . The World Bar is located here, with some excellent views across to Skyline Gondola.
