The Sovereign's Dilemma by Courtney Reid

The Queensland Figurative has been held successfully every 2 years since 2014 and offers over $10,000 in prizes. With each passing year, the Queensland Figurative continues to gain traction with Queensland artists and art lovers alike. The unique brief calls for artists to create paintings that incorporate the human figure as an integral part of the composition.

Scribblers by F J Rowland-Wregg

The Young Artist Award (which was introduced in 2016), is continuing, in line with the society's commitment to encouraging and supporting young people. The YAA is an open competition for artists aged 30 and under. Promoting engagement with schools and art colleges, this open competition offers an exhibition platform for young artists, offering a $2500 prize pool for Queensland's emerging fine art champions. Young artists are invited to submit a two-dimensional artwork of a subject (taken from life), genre and stylistic approach of the artist's choice.
