Don't miss this very special live music event

The premiere of Dan Forrest's intensely moving Requiem for the Living was met with worldwide acclaim in 2013 and the sold-out Queensland premiere performance in 2017 earned the Queensland Choir a standing ovation at St. John's Cathedral.

It is a most impressive piece of new music written in a deeply spiritual but highly accessible style. Described by its composer as, "a narrative just as much for the living, and their own struggle with pain and sorrow, as for the dead," this is a work that speaks of the turmoil and sorrow that faces humanity in the world today, probably now more than ever.

The Queensland Choir is proud to present Requiem for the Living this Autumn at Cathedral of St Stephen, on Friday 14 May at 7:30 pm.

The program for the evening will be:

1. Overture 'La finta giardiniera' - W. A Mozart

2. Dance of the Blessed Spirits - C.W. von Gluck

3. Exultate Jubilate K165 W. A Mozart

4. Requiem for the Living - Dan Forrest

The soloist in the Exultate Jubilate and the Requiem will be Leanne Kenneally (soprano). The orchestra is the Sinfonia of St Andrews and the conductor will be Kevin Power.
