The Queensland Choir is proudly presenting Handel's oratorio "Samson" for the first time this spring.
Richly orchestrated and full of brilliant arias including "Let the Bright Seraphim" and "Total Eclipse" and superb choruses, this magnificent afternoon of brilliant music is not to be missed.
Composed within a few weeks of the completion of Messiah, Samson tells the story of the legendary Israelite warrior, his dramatic downfall and the terrible vengeance he wreaks upon his enemies.
Regarded as one of Handel's most theatrical masterpieces, the powerful oratorio will be brought to life by Queensland's premier chorus The Queensland Choir and a talented cast of soloists including Jaewoo Kim (tenor) as Samson, Leanne Kenneally (soprano), Amy Wilkinson (soprano), David Hibbard (bass), Brett Holland (bass) with the Sinfonia of St Andrews conducted by Kevin Power.
Lovers of the Baroque will be delighted! Don't miss out!
Handel's "Samson" will play at The Old Museum on 28 August 2018, from 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm.
