A List Of Day Tripping In QLD
My Aussie New Year Bucket List
My Aussie New Year Bucket List for 2017 is full of different destinations in Queensland. I also have projects and actions I would like to make habitual for myself.
These are not exactly resolutions, more like aspirations and goals. Things I'd like to achieve, but if I don't its because I found other things along the way.
Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park.
Last year I had one of those years consumed by projects which stopped me from day tripping like I normally would in the previous years. One place I did make sure I completed off of the 2016 Bucket list was the Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park.
I've spent a good chunk of my childhood on land like this and I miss the tranquillity. My children who have barely seen bushland living in suburbia had an epic adventure. Through my eyes it is beautiful. Through their eyes, it's like The Jungle Book. We truly take nature for granted sometimes.
The natural bridge is a rock formation that has created a bridge over a waterfall running into a cave. You can go into the cave and above to check out the scenery. There is no swimming at the bridge ($320 Fine) but the area also boasts places within the Numinbah Valley like Binna Burra, Hinze Dam and Springbrook Plateau.
This year my bucket list is huge, I will share with you a couple of highlights. One thing I would like to start doing as a habitual activity is a walk out to King Island, Wellington Point. I believe this will help clear my mind and help with my health and fitness.
King Island Wellington Point is reserved as a conversation area. As you arrive you can hear the birds chirping throughout the mangrove trees. You can experience solitude even among other people walking to the island as the noise of the traffic and suburbia is left behind.
The round trip is approx 2km and is a popular activity in the Redlands area. Get directions to Wellington Point Reserve HERE.
I do this with my kids often, but in 2017 I would like to do this for myself.
Brisbane Riverfire 2017
Brisbane RiverFire is on my bucket list for 2017. I would like to attend Riverfire every year for the rest of my life! I look forward to this event every year.
If you have not yet been to Riverfire you will not be disappointed. It is a very busy event held along the Brisbane River at South Bank, South East Queensland, Australia

Paronella Park, Mena Creek
One of my big goals is to visit Paronella Park, I am in awe of this place. I need to go here. I need to see it for myself. Paronella Park is a heritage-listed tourist attraction located at Mena Creek, Queensland, Australia, 120 kilometres south of Cairns.
The creator José Paronella had grand visions when he purchased the land and by 1935 Paronella Park was opened to the public. This place looks magical and well deserving of my humble bucket list.
This is something we did last year and I have committed to now attending every year. This year I would really love to hold my own, we will see how that goes. In 2016 we attended the Mad Hatters Tea Party held by Ray White Rochedale.
Australia's biggest morning tea is held across the country to raise funds for Cancer Research and Preventative services. This is a great opportunity to have some fun, some food and some play for a good cause.
Participating in these kinds of events each year doesn't just help the cause, it helps me as well. It keeps me grounded and it's a reminder how lucky we are to have our health.Last year the event raised 11.9 MILLION dollars.

So there you have it! New Year, New me and all of that jazz. Some places I'll revisit, habitual walking I would like to commit to and a new adventure in northern Queensland!
