Queenscliff Missy Higgins
Missy Higgins

Yes, it's that time of year again - the 16th annual Queenscliff Music Festival is coming up on 23-25 November.

Head down to the Bellarine Peninsula for a weekend of awesome music, with headline acts including Missy Higgins, The Cat Empire, You Am I, Something for Kate and Baby Animals.

With more than 56 acts and 150 performances across 5 stages, there's something for everyone; in fact, more than you could possibly take in over a weekend, so check the schedule and start planning. Forget sleep - you can do that when you get back to work.

Diesel, Shannon Noll, Mia Dyson, The Fauves - remember them? The Beards, the hairiest band around. Jackson Firebird, TZU, Gurrumul. And loads more fantastic artists; it's a strong line-up. They must be attracted by the fish and chips.
Queenscliff Bananas in Pyjamas

There's also a kid's program, headlined by (wait for it!) Bananas in Pyjamas, and including The Mudcakes, Red The Clown, and the Rhythmology Drumming Experience.

In and around Queenscliff. The 2012 venue map is not yet available online, but the 2011 map provides a good general idea of what to expect.

If you want to get there from the Mornington Peninsula, you can get a great deal on the Sorrento-Queenscliff ferry, which is offering to take your friends for free if you bring your car across.

Otherwise, if you're driving you need to get yourself to Geelong then follow the Bellarine Highway / Queenscliff Road right to the end.

There are also several public transport options and a shuttle service will be operating from Avalon Airport.

2-day ticket - $170, 3-day ticket - $204
Single day tickets also available and discounted youth (14-17 years) tickets. Check the website for full details.

Check the web for local accommodation. The festival website includes links to local providers. There are also a couple of special deals available for festival goers.

Alternatively, you can try camping on the Queenscliff Cricket Oval for only $38 per person for 3 nights (tents only). Showers and toilets are provided so you won't smell too bad! Book this via the Festival website.
