Park your worries and relax
Queens Park – Near Bondi Junction/Bronte is a wonderful place to go to take some much needed time away from your worries. Leave all the stress behind as you sink into nature. The park is close enough to busy Bondi Junction shopping hub that you will be in no danger of being too far from civilisation should you require a latte. A good idea is to bring some provisions from the nearby shops at Bronte road and make a day of it. If you like you could spend only an hour or so in relaxation, it is really up to you.
Queens Park is a wonderful place to take a walk. It is the perfect afternoon or mid-morning stroll, make sure you cover up in the harsh sun. It is getting a bit dry lately due to the weather but is still very lush. The sun can be harsh at this time of year so if you have fair skin take care or you just might come away with what looks like third-degree burns! Many unsuspecting tourists fall into this trap, only realising the skin damage much later in the day when they turn a shade of pink that rivals a pink lady apple. The cooling shade is a relief, and you can marvel at the wonder of nature as you meander along the pathways looking at the way the ferns somehow manage to cling onto the cliff rocks.
The park is a great place for exercise and escaping the crowds. On weekdays there are only a few people scattered throughout the park, and typically the park is slightly busier on weekends. Schools sometimes arrange to do sports like soccer on the open fields in the park, usually on the weekends. The park is popular with families and dog walkers alike. The locals love to spend some time enjoying their surroundings here.
It is beautiful to see so many people enjoying nature on weekends. There are typically dragonflies and butterflies and this makes you feel like you are in a fantasy world. It is so nice to take the time that you deserve to truly relax. Bring some friends and you have the perfect afternoon walk. You can stroll through Queens Park to reach the much larger Centennial Parklands if you prefer, or just linger in the lovely local parklands. What a perfect way to spend the weekend.
