For a few months now, the playground area at Healesville's popular Queens Park has been in the process of a complete overhaul and renovation. And what a revamp it is!
Set amongst a new array of interesting rock gardens, contemporary plantings and of course, some amazing new equipment, the Queens Park playground is going to be a hit with locals and visitors alike.
Even though there are wonderful new gardens, the numerous "years old' trees which provide lots of shade whilst also being a beautiful feature of Queens Park are still there alongside the new design.
The earthy but also modern theme suits the local township of Healesville which has a mix of older buildings plus the addition of newer buildings largely housing the towns popular Cafe and Shopping scene.
Another beautiful thing is the fact that there is still lots of lush lawn areas for picnic rugs and kicking a footy or playing a spot of soccer. The toilet amenities are modern and there are several BBQs on offer as well as numerous picnic seats and benches.
There is so much to see and so many more activities for the little ones to enjoy. Swing, climb, slide or bounce? It's all there!
The park also has bridge access on the East side leading to the popular
Beechworth Bakery , which provides a wonderful selection of hot food, sandwiches and sweets which would be perfect for a picnic in the park!
On the Badger Creek Road side of Queens Park, there is a pedestrian walkway which leads to the wonderful Main Street of Healesville, beginning with the inviting cafe
Habituel , which offers great coffee and lovely treats!
So please bring your little ones and yourselves out for a look at this fantastic new version of Healesville's Queens Park, I am tipping you will be popular with the kids for doing so.
