The off Margaret Street in Toowoomba has recently been upgraded with a range of equipment that is suitable for children of all ages.



Margaret St Playground is set on the corner of Margaret St and Lindsay St in beautiful Queens Park. Although Queens Park covers a large area, being more than 25 hectares in total, if you set your GPS for 96 Margaret St, there is parking along the street that gives direct access to the playground.



Playground equipment for young children includes an area for imaginative play with things like a train, a horse carousel, and toddler swings. These are set above a soft-fall surface, keeping little ones safe.



For toddlers, preschoolers, and early school-aged children there is a water play area, set over a large sandpit. This thoughtful design is fantastic for kids who like to make mud cakes, and parents who like to leave such "delicacies" at the park!



Margeret St Playground includes a range of equipment that helps children develop their strength and balance through play. This includes a swinging bridge, rope walls to climb, a hamster wheel, and a long flying fox.



The jewel in the crown for older kids is the giant rope spider web with a cubby at the top of the tower, a connecting sky bridge, and a huge slide.



There is ample seating for parents and carers, much of it either under shelters or trees. There are also picnic tables and BBQ facilities placed strategically around the entire area.



The playground borders on a footy field for older kids and adults who like to kick a ball about. There is also a modern amenities block with parent and disabled facilities, and hand sanitizer installed near the washbasins.



The playground is connected by a number of walking and bike paths. One of these leads down to a dog off-leash park. With young kids, especially if they are afraid of dogs, it is good to keep in mind that this dog park is not fenced. Although fencing this area would seem wise, it is a good distance from the playground and easily avoided.



For a great day out, families in Toowoomba really can't go past the upgraded Margaret St playground. With all of these facilities and challenges, there is even the hope of a nap at home afterwards!
