The Queen's Birthday Parade is a celebration of the official birthday of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second. On Saturday 11th of June, take a warm blanket and a fold up chair to Rond Terrace, on Lake Burley Griffin, to witness this once a year historic event.
The Royal Military College of Duntroon's Trooping of the Queen's Colour is an occasion marked with great respect. Historically, the tradition of carrying "colours" (or flags) hails from English medieval times where, during battle, flags which represented family emblems were carried to the fight. The parade is witnessed by hundreds of people on the shoreline, so get there early before the 10:15am start.
