Rejoice Queenslanders. This year we have an extra public holiday. From 2012 the Queen's Birthday holiday, traditionally celebrated in June, has been transferred to the first Monday in October so we can enjoy a public holiday in the latter half of the year. Head on out into the winter sunshine for a day trip or attend one of the many events that are happening from Saturday 9 June to Monday 11 June 2012.
