They bring the traditional market goods (think designer replicas) but also a mix of local and genuine products. The markets are 90% undercover, so they will always be protected from the rain that seems to be a constant presence in Melbourne.
As the markets open particularly early, we thought it would be a good idea to get to them on an early Tuesday morning. Least to say we were freezing and somewhat regretting that decision until we found scarves, beanies and north face trackies to help us combat the chills! What I'm trying to say is if you need something, you can most likely find it here.
The market is divided into three regions - general goods, a grocery (which includes a butcher, fruits, dried goods, sweets and speciality foods) and a food court.
The markets are constantly buzzing with people.
They are literally located across the road from a tram stop in the free zone, so it is super easy to access and something you don't want to miss whilst in Melbourne!
