On Saturday March 4th, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the newly-built Queen Elizabeth II Park, by Queanbeyan River. The park has been designed with a large tiered seating area and lawns, so concert-goers can sit and enjoy clear views of every performance. This free, open-air concert features music from Mozart, Strauss and Handel and is sure to attract large, local crowds for the first performance at this new community venue.
Reserved seating is available through Eventbrite (free), or arrive when the park opens at 5pm and nab a spot on the grass, with the performance starting at 7pm. While you wait, there will be gourmet street food to enjoy and beer and wine tasting available. Alternatively, you can bring your own picnic and BYO alcohol is permitted.
