On Sunday 20 January 2019 and Sunday 17 February 2019, there will be a Merchants' Mess Markets held at Victoria Quay as part of a range of special events being held at the Fremantle Port over summer called Quay to Summer. The Merchants' Mess Markets will be held from 4pm to 9pm in the E-Shed carpark.
Victoria Quay has been an important part of the City of Fremantle for a long time. It is located on the southern side of Fremantle harbour and at the mouth of the Swan River. It has a strong connection to Indigenous history and it has been a major hub for shipping, trade and as a landing place for new migrants entering the country for many years.
The aim of the Merchants' Mess Markets will be to shine a light on Fremantle's multicultural heritage and the important part that Victoria Quay played in welcoming new migrants to the City of Fremantle.
There will be plenty of delicious food options available! There with be Greek, Italian and Spanish fare available plus a mussel bar for lovers of seafood!
