Located along Main North Road in Pooraka, Quan Ngon is a little-known place where you can enjoy Vietnamese cuisine. Despite being located a fair distance away from the CBD, it is quite popular with a crowd of a good size when we visited during dinner time.
We ordered Hot Peppered Fish & Pork Hotpot, Chicken Omelette and Vegetarian Basil Stir-fry dishes to go with steamed rice. The pieces of fish in their Hot Peppered Fish & Pork Hotpot was tender with a lovely golden brown batter coating and were complemented by slices of pork cooked just right. The vegetables accompanying the ingredients still had a bit of firmness to them and the pepper sauce added a delectable peppery taste. Take care when eating this dish as it is served piping hot.

We liked that the chunks of chicken in their Chicken Omelette were of a generous size and the omelette had a wonderful fluffy texture. Mixed into the omelette were onions and peas to provide some extra texture to the dish.

The Vegetarian Basil Stir-fry was a good balance for the meat dishes. All the vegetables were cooked to perfection and the basil sauce helped to lift their flavour. Also included in the dish were chunks of tofu which carried the delectable flavour of the sauce.
