The Pine Rivers CWA is fund raising to assist with the redevelopment of their kitchen and clubroom and will be holding a Tea Party and Mini Cent Auction on Saturday February 11th at Kruger Hall, 24 Anne St, Kallangur from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.
What is the CWA? "Queensland Country Women's Association. QCWA is about friendship, about community and about being connected. It offers a wide range of activities tailored to the interests of local members. It also offers friendship and the opportunity to contribute to local, national and international communities. QCWA is different things to different people. It's a place to make new friends, learn how to help others, learn a new craft or brush up on an old one."
The CWA was started in Burra in South Australia, way back in 1922, and is the largest women's organisation in Australia. They are well known for their community spirit and cooking.
So what better way to check out the cooking skills than to go to the Tea Party at Kallangur? As well as enjoying the tea party you will be entertained by a baking competition on the day, in which men can also participate. Sounds like a lot of fun.
You will be greeted with a cold drink, on your arrival, and then enjoy the promised sumptuous spread. And you are bound to enjoy the Mini Cent Auction.
