Find That Book You've Been Looking For
Sometimes the bookstore just doesn't have what you're looking for. You know exactly what you want, that old title from what's-his-face that your cousin's friend's sister has been harping on about. The trouble is, commercial bookstores tend to stock the newest, most popular or bestselling titles (Fifty Shades of Grey for example). Some old title that even you have trouble remembering; you're better off searching online.
QBD's online store is bright, friendly and easy to use. Just like the physical bookstores the QBD website works with categorisation, such as:
Entertainment – Music, Humour, Film etc. Art – Decorative, Technique, History etc. Animals and Nature – Feline, Reptiles, Farming etc. Hobbies – Pottery, Antiques, Needlecraft etc. New Age – Meditation, Astrology, Angels etc.
Just to name a few.
The QBD website allows users to create their own accounts so that they can order books online. Users log in using their email and a self-created password and can update their contact details, view past orders, change their password, create a 'wishlist', add favourite authors to a 'watchlist' (notifying them of any new releases by that author as their titles become available) and add items to their cart with the intent to purchase.
QBD Online also gives users the opportunity to sign up to the QBD newsletter, a weekly email of book specials and one-off discounts. You can buy gift vouchers online, leave reviews of your favourite works and browse the many reduced items. Users can search bestseller lists, new releases and also see 'related' books – books that readers or site administrators have linked due to their connected themes or genre.
Club QBD is a loyalty program exclusively for QBD customers. Whether you buy in-store or online you can use your Club QBD card. Use the card ten times, ten separate orders or purchases from QBD, and receive a discount voucher worth ten per cent of every dollar you spent on those ten purchases. If you've spent $50 across ten purchases you'll receive a $5 voucher; spend $150 over ten purchases and you'll receive a $15 QBD voucher. Spend even more and, well I think you've got the general idea.
Give the card to the salesperson when buying in-store or type your card-specific QBD number into the online order form and you're off. The ten purchases must be made within a 24-month period to receive the discount voucher. Vouchers are posted out once the tenth purchase has been made.
At the moment QBD online is offering free shipping within Australia; no charge to post out your books. Take advantage of this great incentive and bulk up on all of those books you've been wanting (I'm going to).
QBD has 23 stores in Queensland, 12 in New South Wales, six in Victoria, three in the Australian Capital Territory, three in South Australia and one in the Northern Territory. Check the locations here.
