Fine-dining buffet and unlimited drinks at Qantas Lounge
We were headed off to Coffs Harbour, excited at the opportunity to explore the quiet regional town. We arrived early at the Sydney domestic airport to check-in. The Qantas Terminal 3 was modern and, open and airy. Complete with self check-in & baggage drop facilities.
After the routine custom check, we headed up to the Qantas Business Lounge to relax and unwind. It is complementary to bring in a guest if you are a member.
Qantas Terminal 3
A beautiful stunning orchid & sugarcane floral centrepiece greeted us at the Lounge entrance. I was impressed with the intricate beauty of the modern floral decorations. It is an art. There was another stunning white orchids & bamboo sticks floral centrepiece was in the Lounge. The presence of grand, delicate flowers serve a gentle welcome to all travellers, calming and elegance. Qantas have put in some thought to make it comfortable for their members.
You can grab a cup of coffee and a handful of colourful sweet delights (Hundreds & Thousands, assorted liquorice squares and Monte Carlo) while you connect to the free wi-fi.
The lounge had a few light options available, including: a selection of cheeses, charcuterie and chutneys, penne amatriciana, roasted pumpkin and minted cous cous salad, and gluten free beef hrira soup.
Qantas has collaborated with some top fine-dining celebrity chefs to design their menus, but unfortunately this is probably for first and business class only. Still, the regular lounge was pretty sleek too.
I must say a lot of effort has been put into designing a menu like this. There were some quite gourmet selections.
I was especially impressed with Qantas sourcing out the finest Australian deli selections and showcasing them here at the Lounge. I certainly noted down some of the finest deli selections and will seek them out, because they are that good.
Of course, did I mention, you can have free unlimited drinks here at the Lounge? Beer, white wine, red wine, fine gins, soft drinks and juices. When your flight is delayed, which is unavoidable and can happen from time to time, the wait is lot more bearable with a drink in hand.
