Local artisan quality handmade gifts for Christmas
The Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art, better known as GOMA, is hosting a Christmas Design Market on Saturday 15th December 2018 from 9.00 am to 4.00pm.
Come along to have the opportunity to treat yourself and your family to handmade gifts by the best makers/local artisans in Queensland. This is one of Brisbane's favourite markets and will be held at the Gallery of Modern Art, Stanley Place, Cultural Precinct in South Brisbane.
Robert MacPherson "Boss Drovers" comprises of 2,400 individual drawings deliberately executed as if by a ten-year child. Robert has made these drawings over a 20-year period under the guise of his alter ego, Robert Pene, a grade 4 student at St. Joseph's Convent, Nambour, Queensland. The project is dated 14 February 1947 and each sheet is stained to give it an aged look. (29th September 2018 to 24 February 2019)
A Fleeting Bloom can be located in Gallery 6, Henry & Amanda Bartlett Gallery. The exhibition celebrates the classic arts of Japan with magnificent folded screens, photography, ceramics and paintings that capture moments of distinct beauty in the aspects of nature. (8 September 2018 to 29 September 2019)
