The Q1 apartments at Surfer's Paradise on the Gold Coast may appear to come across as overrated (maybe and slightly) however the experience of my stay in a two-bedroom apartment was fantastic. The cleaning services were excellent, and the air conditioning was on at the right temperature. Also the quality of the furniture and electrical appliances are top notch; and thus staying on the 40th floor on this occasion made way for a great home away from home.

My apartment has great views of the beach overlooking the bathroom, where a spa bath was just pure heaven. The living room area boasted great views of Conrad Jupiters and broadbeach, and after a few days it was really difficult to leave. Sometimes it would be much nicer to stay inside with the beautiful decor and the air conditioning than to go to the beach and go outside.

The pool area is fairly basic, and the other letdown of this establishment is the price of the accommodation. It does not come cheap, and thus if you are only intending to stay in this part of the goldie for 1-2 nights, you would be better off staying at one of the hotels nearby. It is easy to feel jealous of those people staying at Q1 when you are staying at the Watermark across the road; although the latter hotel has also got some class at an affordable rate. Q1 is a five-star rated establishment, whereas Watermark across the road is a four-star rated establishment.

It's worth staying at the Q1 at least once to be appreciated, and to go to the Q1 observation deck at least once to appreciate as well. Otherwise you might be better off staying at the Palazzo Versace for similar rates where the service there is extra special and petite.
