The Pyrmont Festival returns to Pyrmont from 16 - 25 May, showcasing best of the Pyrmont Precinct and Mudgee Region, with more than 50 restaurants, bars, hotels, winemakers and artists featured.



The festival consists of a two-day outdoor event with free entry in Pirrama Park (17-18 May) catering to families from 11am to 5pm with a program of live music and local artists including rides and children's entertainment. These include getting temporary tattoos, jumping castles and icecream carts. I also stumbled upon a sandwich cart making Ruebens and they were too good so I had to go back and have a second.



Market stalls are set up with a range of Mudgee wineries including Huntington Estate, Burrundulla Vineyard and Lowe Wines. You're able to speak to the winemakers and staff which adds a personal touch to understanding how they grow their grapes and what their wine making processes entails. And what's better is that the winemakers and Pyrmont restaurants have selected wines to match lunches, dinners and tastings over the 10 days.

With food stalls, condiments showcasing olive oils, jams, chutneys from the Mudgee region and something sweet, such as the icecream carts, sweets it is rather reminiscent of the Pyrmont Growers Market. Lots of great food to tuck into and if you're like me, I can't stop nibbling all day.
