Here is another gem along the Stuart Highway. Pussy Cat Flats is the local licensed sporting grounds at Pine Creek located on the Kakadu Highway.



Pussy Cat Flats has more to offer than a inexpensive camping for a weary traveller. Along with its sense of humour the grounds also contains a racecourse, bar, kids playground and even a modest 9 hole golf course.



Proving to be a hidden oasis to any traveller you can choose from grass or dirt campsites, powered or unpowered and even get a hot meal and a beer without breaking the budget. Yes, your four legged pal is also welcome.



To find Pussy Cat Flats do NOT take the turn off to Pine Creek town centre instead keep driving and take the Kakadu Hwy turn off on the opposite side. Drive for about two minutes, cross the railway tracks and you will soon see Pussy Cat Flats on your left.
Pine Creek is a tiny mining township only 1 hour north of Katherine. While you are visiting Pine Creek you can explore the Northern Goldfields Loop, visit the National Trust Museum and Railway Station and Steam Locomotive Museum.
