The Purple Bombers event is set to take place on August 15
The first annual Pride Event is set to take place at Etihad Stadium on August 15, hosted by Essendon Football Club's LGBTQI supporter group, Purple Bombers.
Tickets are on sale now to kickoff the event and help assist the Essendon Football Club and the AFL in being leaders of change by creating a safe environment for LGBTQI supporters and players, by encouraging and promoting diversity, tolerance and acceptance within the wider football community.
The event is the first of its kind and will go a long way in the goals to establish an official Pride Match in the 2016 AFL season. MC'd by comedian Thomas Jaspers, featuring special guests including Essendon CEO Xavier Campbell and music from Romantasaurus, this event will sell out.
Established in 2014 and officially launched on March 30 2015, The First Annual Pride Event will be held in the Studio Room – Level 2 at Etihad Stadium.
With support from Beyond Blue and the AFL, the foundations for a strong coterie group are in place. A large percentage of the money raised via the Purple Bombers goes directly back into the club, to aid and assist the development and reach, something the Purple Bombers are very proud of.
Tickets are available via www.purplebombers.com/pride and are only $49. Attending guest can win an Essendon 2015 guernsey or a signed 2015 team football via raffle.
