Pups on Sups is exactly what the title suggests; it is SUPing with your pup. Pups on Sups Obedience Training Program (the first of its kind in WA), is a revolutionary, fun and unique way to combine basic obedience training for your dog and stand up paddle boarding skills.

SUPing with your dog is one of the best activities I have done with my fur baby. It's fun and entertaining for both of you, plus it will keep you fit, you can enjoy the wonderful views and stunning scenery of the Swan River, there is always a chance you will SUP with dolphins (I have and it's very special) and it just makes you feel happy.
It's a wonderful and exciting way to spend some quality time with your dog that is outside the usual dog park and walking spectrum.
This new obedience training program is a 5-week course that will teach you and your dog basic cue commands relevant to SUPing, progressing each week towards improving communication, balance and team work.
The well-designed course will include instruction from a qualified SUP instructor with oodles of exposure and knowledge and a well regarded and experienced dog trainer of 18 years.
Lesson 1 is a SUP lesson without your dog and you will learn the course outline.
Throughout the remainder of the course, you will learn safety tuition, basic cue commands on land and then how to transfer those cues for your dog on water. There will be group challenges as you and your pooch become more proficient, with all lessons working towards a Pups on Sups Grand Group Tour during week 5.
You will need to bring a warm change of clothes, a towel, dog lead and flat collar (chain collars not permitted), dog treats, dog toy (if you dog responds well to this), water proof bumbag or pouch (available to buy on the day if required), dog life vest if required plus water to drink for you and your dog.
The course does need you to have basic SUP experience. You can get this basic knowledge by hiring a board prior to the event.
Click here for information on how and where to do this.
The course commences on 22 October 2018 and runs until 19 November, 5.00pm - 6.30pm at
Sandy Beach Reserve . The cost is a reasonable $295.00 and includes all equipment, Pups on Sups gift bag and participation certificate. The maximum number of spaces is six, so you will need to book your space early to avoid disappointment.
