Run, walk, dance - just get your glow on
Brisbane city will be awash with fluorescent colour when the Puma Glow Run lights up the night on Saturday August 24. The kaleidoscope of glowing colour begins at the race start time of 7.30pm from the city Botanic Gardens Riverstage. Running enthusiasts, dance divas and anyone looking for something genuinely different to do are all welcome to join in the illuminating fun.

The Puma Glow Run puts a twist on the traditional fun run. This is a glow in the dark night event, where participants can walk, run and dance their way through the five kilometre purpose built course. Serious competitors can time themselves through the course that is if they don't get distracted by the light blaster glow zones set up along the way. These audio-visual extravaganza areas will have you dancing up a storm to the beats of local DJs. Even after you have crossed the finish line the party keeps going with a glow community dance party where glowsters can celebrate their achievements.

Prizes are on offer throughout the course for fast finishers, enthusiastic participants, and for the most spectacular outfits. Don't be surprised if you find yourself running alongside a superhero, skeleton, or sausage roll. Why not try to track down some 80's neon leg warmers, glow in the dark body paint or psychedelic 60's accessories so that your outfit will really shine?

Race kits can be collected from 10am on race day from the venue. Participant kits will include the official glow run t-shirt which looks fantastic under the course lights, glow run headband, race number and glow necklace/wristband.

Event volunteers are also encouraged to apply via the glow run website. Not only will you get to be involved in helping out the glowsters, but you will also be helping charity, as the glow run will be donating $25 for every volunteer to headspace.

Registrations for the Brisbane Glow Run are now open. Online registrations cost $50 per person. Registrations on race day at the event cost $60 per person. Children under four are free. See the website for registration details and further information.

Parking around the venue will be limited. Public transport is encouraged or try the car parks at South Brisbane, then walk across via the Goodwill Bridge. Check the Glow Run Facebook page for regular updates prior to the event. You'll also find some great dress up ideas here from the Melbourne event earlier this year. Take a look at the clip below also from the Melbourne event to get an idea of what to expect.
