Presented by the University of Western Australia's Business School, this free public lecture explores the Perth transport plan by extrapolating from data collected as part of a United Kingdom (UK) study into travel time.
The Perth transport plan outlines the long term vision for road, rail and active transport infrastructure in Western Australia. How we appraise new transport infrastructure comes down to what we save in travel time. The value of time, therefore, holds significant influence on transport funding.
Delivered by BHP Billiton visiting Professor Stephane Hess from the Institute of Transport (Leeds), the lecture will draw on the UK's inquiry into the value of travel time for its citizens, as well as travel time data is collected and modelled.
