On the water's edge in Balmoral is the classy restaurant Public Dining Room.

Public Dining Room, formerly Watermark sits beside the sand with views across the glistening waters of Balmoral Beach. The location also serves as an ideal vantage point for watching passersby enjoy the sunshine. Floor to wall ceilings which encase almost the entire restaurant maximise this view and create a bright and airy open dining space. The interior further consists of white walls and timber, natural and raw materials creating a stylish and modern yet tranquil atmosphere.

The food, whilst delicious, is not particularly cheap. The small sharing plates range from $14-16 and mains are between $24 and $42. The cuisine, labelled Modern Australian, consists of a combination of pasta, meat and seafood.

Additionally, there is a "young adults" menu so younger, less adventurous eaters are welcome to come along and eat usual kids' menu fare such as pasta with Napoli sauce and sausages or fish and chips.

Lunch and dinner commences from 12pm on weekdays and 12.30pm on weekends. Public Dining Room is fully licensed and open seven days per week.

Breakfast is also served on weekends from 8pm. There is an extensive menu with both sweet and savoury bases covered. The breakfast menu also features international flavours such as Baghdad eggs with cumin and mint, and Spanish baked eggs with ricotta and chorizo.

The food and location make Public Dining Room perfect for special occasion dining with friends or family, your partner or visitors from out of town. Contingent upon the weather, the idyllic Balmoral Beach beckons you to walk along its shore, either on the path or sand, after your meal whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Both free and metered street parking is available nearby.
