Event:
A film about one of Australia's most infamous celebrities
PUB: The Movie tells the outrageous true story of Fred Negro. A cartoonist, punk rocker and creator of PUB, the comic strip that chronicled the history of the music scene in his beloved St Kilda, Melbourne.
The film expertly combines interviews with luminaries of the St. Kilda music scene (Steve Lucas; X, Ross Knight; the Cosmic Psychos) and a treasure trove of Negro cartoons, music and humour, gonzo Brisbane filmmaker, Andrew Leavold, brings the same eye for eccentricity and humanity he brought to his cult hit film: The Search for Weng Weng (2013) to tell the true story of Fred's journey from shock-rock provocateur to a loveable local hero.
Don't miss your chance to see this fabulous and informative Australian documentary for yourself on the big screen at The Backlot Perth and have your chance to meet the director, the one and only Andrew Leavold yourself, as he and his Perth-based editor Benji Steane with be available for a very special Q&A session after the film hosted by filmmaker Jenny Ross (Age Of Rage: The Australian Punk Revolution).
