Looking for an unparalleled food and wine adventure to the bush? Silver Compass Tours invites you to come aboard The Provenance Express, their slow travel, slow food odyssey by train from Sydney to Orange this October.

This 3-day adventure features a carefully curated itinerary of local organic and biodynamic food & wine experiences.

Silver Compass Tours is a locally-based tour operator, which proudly showcases passionate local producers in regional NSW. This is a unique opportunity to see how the locals live and go behind the scenes at some of Australia's finest organic farmyards and wineries.

Hosted in a private train carriage from Sydney to Orange, you'll have three full days of complete immersion in our amazing food and wine region during the Orange FOOD Week festival.


It's harvest and vintage time in the Orange region, with the countryside blossoming in beautiful Autumnal colours.

Here are just some of the amazing experiences to look forward to:

  • Onboard cheese& wine tastings with local vigneron and producer.

  • A fine-dining Welcome Lunch on a vineyard.

  • Orientation tour and boutique shopping.

  • The Festival Night Market in a fairylight park.

  • Day tour to Canowindra, a premium organic district within our region – includes tour of an organic fig and olive farm & vineyard with product tastings, as well as a long table lunch on a biodynamic vineyard with a strawbale winery, and additional private vineyard ramble and organic wine tasting.

  • Festival dinner event on Saturday featuring local and organic produce.

  • Sparkling Sunday breakfast.

  • Guided tour of an indigenous edibles community garden.

  • Visit to a boutique pop-up design store.

  • Local produce and farm store stops.

  • A visit to the historic village of Carcoar including boutique shopping, followed by a 3 course Farewell Lunch in our heritage dining venue, Antica Australis.

    This is an unmissable experience for foodies! Best of all, everything is included. The fee is $997 per person based on double occupancy. Fabulous Singles welcome for an additional $197 to secure own room. There is limited availability for friends sharing rooms with twin beds.

    You'll be staying in the centre of Orange with amazing bars, boutiques, restaurants and cafes all in walking distance.
